Therapy for Men

I specialize in working with men, both straight and gay, who are struggling with relationships, dating, intimacy, or a sense of disconnection.

Many of the men I work with feel like something isn’t working, but they’re not sure exactly why. On the surface, things might look fine. But underneath, there’s frustration, loneliness, or a sense of being stuck.

Common Reasons Men Reach Out

You might be:

  • Dating but unable to build something that lasts

  • Feeling disconnected or emotionally shut down in relationships

  • Repeating the same patterns with different people

  • Struggling with anxiety, overthinking, or low mood

  • Unsure how to express what you feel, or even what you feel

  • Navigating questions about sex, intimacy, or identity

  • Feeling lonely, even with friends or an active social life

These are more common than you might think and they’re all things we can work on.

Why Therapy Can Be Different for Men

A lot of men come into therapy unsure of what to expect.

You might not be used to talking about your inner life in this way. Or you may have tried before and found it unhelpful or too passive.

My approach is different.

Therapy with me is active, direct, and focused. We won’t just talk, we’ll work to understand the patterns that are shaping your relationships and keeping you stuck.

How I Work

I use a relational, insight-oriented approach, which means we look closely at how you relate to other people and how those patterns developed over time.

I’m engaged in the process. I’ll ask direct questions, offer observations, and challenge you when it’s useful. At the same time, the work is collaborative. We’re figuring this out together.

The goal isn’t just insight. It’s change:

  • clearer communication

  • more stable relationships

  • a stronger sense of what you want

Working with Straight and Gay Men

I work with men across sexual orientations and backgrounds.

As a gay therapist, I bring both personal and clinical understanding to working with:

  • dating and relationships

  • sex and intimacy

  • identity and self-understanding

For some clients, this is central to the work. For others, it’s simply part of the broader picture.
